Safety wellingtons are protective footwear that cover at least the ankle, normally sitting somewhere between below the calf and below the knee to provide the appropriate leg protection for a given application. They tend to be moulded in one piece from a material such as PVC or PU which prevents the ingress of water. Usually used in work conditions or when carrying out activities where the wearer is at risk of injury.
